The interpreter - Bonus CD
the interpreter - bonus CD When the actual album was first conceived, it was scheduled to have eleven tracks on it, the eight that made the final cut and the remaining three that are on this Bonus CD. The excluded three were the completely re-recorded versions of the rest of the track listing from Esoterica. Indeed, all eleven tracks were brought to full completion at Aubitt Studios ready for the final master on the 8th August 2012. Pete sent the finished eleven track album over to Ken at Sensory Records for review. After some discussion, they both felt that the album was a little long winded at well over an hour in length, so the decision was made to cut three tracks from the album. To save losing all that work on those three songs, Pete decided to put together a bonus CD for the fans who had pre-ordered the album. the rest is history Accompanying the three songs are a fifteen minute documentary film, shot and edited by Pete, with additional footage by Damon Roots. It details the lengthy process of making the album. Also there's a two minute picture slideshow as well as two desktop wallpapers that you can pull off the CD-ROM portion of the disk. As this bonus CD is limited to only two hundred units, Pete wanted to create a special edition version of the album, and so, the debut album and this bonus CD come housed in a bespoke Acetate slipcase. Originally he wanted to have the album cover printed using 3D lenticular imaging, but after some research, he soon discovered how expensive that printing process is.
Not dissuaded from having something 3D, he began designing an original slipcase, using layers and acetate panels. The final slipcase uses a basic system of three acetate panels, set at different opacities, so when held up to a light source, creates a cool depth of field that makes the album artwork look 3D. Each special edition, is hand made by Pete, before it's shipped. Adaptation narration The rights to use the samples from Brief Encounter (see Esoterica) were too expensive, this time around, so Pete recruited actors to recreate the famous lines. One of which was his Girlfriend, Grace. It worked well, but Pete wasn't totally happy with this approach, preferring the actual film samples. muscians Pete Morten Vocals Guitars Keyboards
