The recording commenced 2nd January through to the 9th, 2007, at Thin Ice Studios in Surrey, U.K. Karl Groom once again, produced and engineered the E.P. with additional co-production by Pete Morten and Damon Roots. Esoterica is a significant release in the bands recording history, due to many factors. 26th April 2006, Pete Morten decided to go it alone for
this release.
Pete wrote and played everything, save for the drums.
The first recording that introduced Damon Roots to the band
as the new drummer.
Esoterica gained enough label interest from Sensory to secure the release of the bands debut album 'The Interpreter'
Finally, This was the last release before the name was slightly augmented to My Soliloquy. The rest is history In November 2007, Pete was playing ProgPower Scandinavia with Threshold [Whom he joined, as second guitarist, in June of that year] Lars from Intromental Management was also there. As Lars had shown interest in the bands previous demo Lateral Thinking,
Pete handed a copy of Esoterica to him. While a deal was still not forthcoming with Intromental, Lars very kindly handed the bands details to Ken Golden at Sensory Records. Ken e-mailed Pete at the band's My Space page saying “The material on your My Space is very strong, I think you would be a good fit for us” The band also had offers from Silver Wolf Productions in Germany and Casket Records in the U.K. Esoterica even found it’s way on to Monty Conner’s - the then president - desk, at Road Runner Records.
